THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN GOOD AND NON-EVIL
At this point Mam-E and Uncle Remus gots b'nuss that needs tend'n, woids that need spoken and 'fairs that need 'rranging 'mongst dem selves.' Uncle Remus has become opposed to slavery. A new recruit to the abolitionist movement. With his newly found god-like powers, he’s determine to eliminate the system of human captivity.
Uncle Remus: “Dish heah ain’t no slavery...it’s woisser. Liv'n likes caged cridders wut it is. Gots wings, but na'wers to flap'm. Mam-E, sho's you born, iye’s ‘termined to scrap til iye’s unfassen every i’on shackle dis side of Ge’ogia!”
Now, it's not that our heroin Mam-E disagrees with our non-villian Uncle Remus on the issue of slavery. Make no mistake, she's been exposed to the horrors of 'master and servant.' She is only opposed to the methods Uncle Remus has chosen to obtain that freedom.
